Plant trees and shrubs

Plant a native hedgerow

Natural hedgerows and rows of trees provide valuable habitats and wildlife corridors. They also play an important role in shaping the landscape. The Park supports the planting of native shrubs and trees throughout its territory through its Trames Vertes project.

Native shrubs are an attractive alternative to thuja hedges, providing valuable habitats for numerous birds and insects.

The Park offers expert advice, with a specialist visiting the site to develop a planting plan. The Park covers the full cost of native shrub cuttings. In return, landowners are required to sign up to the Garden Charter.

Since 2018, this initiative has already enabled the planting of 5,000 shrubs throughout the Park’s territory!

For planting in autumn 2026, applications must be submitted by 15 September 2026.

Plant trees

arbre au printemps

How about planting a maple, lime or wild cherry tree? These trees can thrive in meadows and fields, as well as in private gardens and parks.

The cantons or the Park cover the cost of the trees.

Planting costs are the responsibility of the recipient. Landowners commit to preserving and maintaining the trees according to specific recommendations for at least eight years, through a signed agreement.

Planting is recommended during the dormant season, in late autumn or early spring.

Applications can be submitted to the Park at any time.

Legal requirements

Before planting, check the applicable regulations regarding minimum planting distances.
