What is...

transformational tourism?

This is a way of travelling that seeks not only to discover a place, but also to discover oneself along the way. Transformational tourism is driven by a clear intention: to live a meaningful experience capable of sparking awareness or inner change.

Closely linked to practices such as slow tourism, ecotourism, or voluntourism, it focuses on immersion, encounters, and participation. Here, one does not simply skim the surface of a territory — one connects with it, engages with it, and sometimes comes away a little transformed. This type of tourism fosters awareness: rather than consuming a backdrop, one enters into a relationship with it. And sometimes, this journey opens a breach – allowing a new way of seeing, by taking part in local activities, learning skills, or contributing to collective projects.

In its role as a pioneer and incubator of initiatives, the Park is committed to creating at least two transformational tourism offers by 2028, in close collaboration with the tourist offices. Offered as multi-day guided packages, these innovative experiences will target visitors seeking reconnection.
