The territory
The Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut Regional Nature Park is a territory of mountains and valleys stretching across the Fribourg, Vaud and Bernese Pre-Alps. Its landscapes combine peaks, mountain pastures, forests, spectacular gorges and lively villages, with an identity deeply rooted in Alpine traditions.
What sets the park apart is its role as a link: between the plains and the mountains, between human activities and natural environments, between heritage and innovation. The beating heart of the territory remains the alpine pasture season: every summer, herds and families climb to higher altitudes, perpetuating a way of life shaped by cheese production, which in turn shapes the landscape.
The Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut Park remains a living space, where residents, businesses and institutions work together to preserve biodiversity, pass on knowledge, develop sustainable economic activities and welcome respectful tourism. In short, it is a life-size laboratory, where the beauty of the landscape, cultural richness and contemporary life come together to invent a sustainable future.

Missions
The Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut Park is a regional development project born out of the desire of the municipalities, which are responsible for its governance. It has three main missions, broken down into various projects and actions:
The Park ensures the quality of natural environments and landscapes. It restores iconic features such as dry stone walls, combats invasive species and supports local species.
It also raises awareness among users to respect wildlife and fragile environments. Actions are developed in collaboration with local authorities, residents and stakeholders in the area.

The Park promotes regional resources and expertise. It supports mountain agriculture, the timber industry, local products and tourism that respects the region.
The goal is to create an economy that generates value here without harming what makes this region unique.

The Park carries out actions to promote the region and its riches. It offers projects for schools, the general public and young people. Understanding, feeling, marvelling: these are all ways of learning to protect. Because a strong connection with the region makes people want to take care of it.

functioning
The Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut Regional Nature Park is a non-profit association established for an indefinite period. Its status as a purely public-interest organisation means that donations made to it are tax deductible (in accordance with federal, cantonal and municipal regulations).
The Association is managed by three bodies: the Council, the Committee, and the Coordination.
The Association’s headquarters are located in Château-d’Œx. Its members include municipalities, collective members, and individual members.
The General Assembly is the Park’s sovereign body. Its members meet once a year, and their votes are binding. The General Assembly of the Gruyère Pays-d’Enhaut Regional Nature Park Association generally takes place in spring, between May and June.
General assemblies and other participatory forums of the Association provide spaces for dialogue and exchange between members and partners.
