This route leads from Montbovon, on the edge of the Pays d’Enhaut, to Aigle, through wild landscapes, military zones and spectacular panoramas. The early climb follows the roaring Hongrin River through deep gorges and sheer cliffs, before reaching the peaceful, crystal-clear Hongrin reservoir. At La Lécherette begins the restricted military zone of Petit Hongrin. As of now, civilian traffic is no longer allowed through the area on weekdays. Access is permitted only on weekends between June 1 and October 31. This section includes dozens of numbered bridges and the occasional tank, while mountain farmers stoically continue their work on the steep wooded slopes. From Col des Agites (1538 m), a breathtaking descent begins. A damp 300-metre tunnel opens onto a striking view of the Rhône valley. In Luan, a scenic pause offers a view of the Dents du Midi and a panoramic orientation table. The route ends by weaving through the wine-growing villages of Vers-Morey, Corbeyrier and Yvorne, where the Château d’Aigle watches over the town’s vineyards and heritage.
