The three categories of parks establish innovative tools for preservation, promotion and development.

Regional Nature Parks
Regional Nature Parks are characterised by their rich natural and cultural heritage.  They honor the region’s history, including human activity, while preserving the environment.

National Parks
National Parks are regions of wilderness or untouched nature.  In the core zones, nature is left intact and native flora and fauna are preserved. Access is regulated. These parks are intended for scientific research, environmental education, and the relaxation and enjoyment of the general public.

Nature Discovery Parks
Located at the doorstep of urban areas, Nature Discovery Parks offer citizens a place to relax in nature. Their design is similar to that of National Parks, with strictly protected core zones where nature’s processes are free to unfold.
